The Cloud Point is the temperature under which the lubricant base starts to crystallise and paraffins crystals precipitate. When it occurs, there is an extremely high risk of pipeline clogging thus preventing the lubricant from operating correctly. Therefore an inhibitor of paraffins is added to the lubricants.
