New needs in detergency
The detergents of the XXI century must not only be efficient but also safe for those using them and environmentally friendly. That’s why some ingredients that were used in the past in the manufacturing of detergents have been disappearing from the formulations.
The household detergent market bets now on formulations safe for the consumer’s health, that are biodegradable and with no impact on ecosystems. The manufacturing processes are also important, opting for energy efficiency and achieving a reduction of the environmental footprint.

It is a unique multifunctional acrylic copolymer designed for laundry detergents, in powder, tablets or liquid, and also for products developed to remove scale from hard water in washing machines.
Noverite™ LD 920 NB is presented in liquid form and is biodegradable. It stands out for performing the following functions during the washing processes:
- Chelates calcium and magnesium ions
- Disperses soiling.
- Inhibits growth of carbonate crystals
- Modifies the morphology of calcium carbonate crystals
Apart from enhancing the performance of the detergent, Noverite LD 920 NB can improve the efficiency in manufacturing laundry powdered detergents, which can result in significant reductions in water and energy consumption. This polymer allows to:
- Improve plant efficiency by reducing caking
- Lower slurry viscosity
- Reduce water and energy usage during processing
As with the equivalents for dish washing, the Noverite LD 920 NB is biodegradable and is included as Safer Choice Ingredient in EPA Safer Choice Program, a program that helps American manufacturers and consumers identify and select products with safer chemical ingredients, without sacrificing quality or performance.
